Hospital lawyers deny internal inquiry tampered with Savita records
Lawyers for Galway University Hospital have told Savita Halappanavar's inquest that medical records were not tampered with by the internal inquiry into her death.
They said a mark like a bracket was present on the notes before the team began its investigation last December, and was most likely made by a member of the medical team during the "dramatic efforts" to save the 31-year-old dentist.
Dr Katherine Astbury, the consultant who was alleged to have refused to terminate Savita's pregnancy because Ireland is a Catholic country, is being questioend this morning.
