Sexual abuse survivors launch campaign for change
A new campaign is calling for the justice system to change how it deals with survivors of sexual abuse.
Founders of the ANU campaign say that there should be compulsory training for Gardaí and members of the judiciary in how to treat abuse survivors.
The campaign is holding a conference in Dublin today and is being addressed by survivors of sexual abuse, including Fiona Doyle who was abused by her father for more than a decade.
His trial caused public outrage in January when he was released on bail pending an appeal of his sentence.
Fiona said that from her own experience, there are numerous ways the legal system can be improved for abuse survivors.
