SF: Repossessions will be pursued 'with vigour' after IMF suggestion

Sinn Féin has claimed the Government is about to embark on home repossessions "with vigour" and not as a last resort, as the coalition had been saying.
The party made the claim after the IMF review of the bailout noted the need to keep the issue of mortgage arrears and resolution under review.
Sinn Féin's Aengus Ó'Snódaigh said the suggestion from the IMF can only mean one thing.
"Repossessions are not the solution. Austerity is not the solution," he said. "Even the IMF report has indicated that the austerity measures are not having the desired effect.
"It's very concerning for people who are in mortgage distress all around the country that they are suggesting, and the Government seems to be going along with this, that repossessions should be pursued with vigour."
