Two seriously ill after violent Cork city robbery

Two people are in a serious condition at Cork University Hospital after they were attacked during an aggravated burglary in Cork city overnight.

At around 2.40am this morning, three armed men burst into a house at Monastery Hill, off Blarney Street.

They attacked all four people in the house, leaving two people in their 20s seriously injured.

Gardaí arrested two of the three intruders as they tried to escape through a window.
