No plans by Govt to hire private debt collectors over welfare fraud

The Social Protection Minister, Joan Burton, has said there are no plans by her department to hire in private debt collectors to chase after welfare fraud.

Ms Burton said welfare overpayments and fraud are already being collected through a change in legislation last year.
