Gardaí recover car from Arklow river
The car which plunged into the water at Arklow pier in Co. Wicklow this morning has now been recovered.
A man in his 30s was inside the vehicle when it went off the pier into the Avoca river at around 6am.
A woman in her 20s managed to escape from the car and raise the alarm.
She was taken to hospital and is not thought to have suffered any serious injury.

Reporter with the Wicklow News, Michael Kelly, has the latest from the scene at Arklow pier.
He said: "The guards have not confirmed that the body is in it, but they sealed off around the car once it was put down on the pier, so that would indicate that the body was in the car.
"They haven't said that themselves, but looking from where I am down here at the scene, there appears to be a body.
"It is very sad for the town of Arklow that this has happened again."
