Senior Garda to investigate money disappearance at Dublin garda station
A senior Garda has been appointed to investigate the disappearance of €9,000 in cash from Balbriggan Garda Station.
It is understood a Detective Superintendent from another Dublin Garda station has started interviewing officers in connection with the incident.
When Gardaí intercepted an armed robbery in Lusk last January, they seized €26,000 from would-be robbers.
The money was kept at Balbriggan Garda station, but when the owner of the premises arrived to collect the cash, €9,000 was missing.
It is understood the notes are untraceable and unmarked.
