Boy dies after shooting himself in tragic incident in Dublin

A 14-year-old boy who apparently shot himself has died from his injuries.

A 14-year-old boy who apparently shot himself has died from his injuries.

The teenager was rushed to hospital last night after the incident at a house in the Clondalkin area of Dublin.

Gardaí said the boy was at the house in the Woodford area when he suffered a gunshot wound. He died in the early hours of today.

It is understood the firearm involved was a legally-owned rifle.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out.

Gardaí in Clondalkin are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the shooting which is being treated as a tragic incident.
