Halligan would rather Flanagan 'step out' of technical group
A member of the Dáil's technical group, John Halligan, has said he would rather Luke 'Ming' Flanagan walked away from the arrangement.
It follows the Roscommon TD admitting his actions in having penalty points quashed were "corrupt".
Under Dáil rules he cannot be forced out of the technical group, which is a mechanism to allow independent TDs have speaking time.
However, Waterford TD John Halligan said he would rather Deputy Flanagan just left.
Mr Halligan said: "For a TD to say that he is corrupt, it is a very serious statement to make.
"I would be likewise thinking with Finian (McGrath), that I think he should probably step out of the group, but he is unlikely to do that.
"We are not in a position to discipline anyone in the group, we are a group of independents, a technical group has no powers, it has no constitution."
