Man injured in Sligo crash

A man in his 20s has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle road crash in Co Sligo.

The incident happened on the Tubbercurry to Ballymote road about a mile outside Tubbercurry shortly before 4am this morning.

The man, who was the only person in the car at the time, was seriously injured and taken to Sligo General Hospital for treatment.

The stretch of road remains closed for a technical examination this morning. Gardaí at Ballymote are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 071 9189500, via the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
