Varadkar: Martin comments prove FF are 'hypocrites'
The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar says Fianna Fáil are "hypocrites who can't be trusted."
His comments come after the opposition party leader Micheál Martin claimed earlier that Leo Varadkar was disconnected from the Irish people.
Martin was critical of comments by the minister, who said that the new property tax would be "hard to evade but easy to pay".
Varadkar says he was referring to the fact that the new tax could be paid at post offices or by installments.
”His comments prove to me why Fianna Fáil are hypocrites who can’t be trusted,” he said. “This is a man who introduced the universal social charge, abolished the Christmas bonus, cut the pension for the blind and disabled. For him to say now he is suddenly feeling our pain is a bit rich, quite frankly.”
