Ten food outlets were closed in February by the Food Safety Authority after health breaches.

In Dublin, Amerta Chinese Restaurant in Monkstown; Gojinka restaurant at the Manor Mall Shopping Centre in Swords and At the Office Catering of Finglas were shut.

In Cork, German Cakes and Snacks in Kanturk; Imperial Chinese Restaurant in Mallow and Asian European Foodstore on Lavitt’s Quay in Cork city were closed.

Elsewhere, Jimmy’s Take Away on Market Square, Mountrath, Laois; McGovern's Victuallers in Drumshambo, Leitrim; Boody’s Chipper of New Ross, Wexford and a grocery food business run by the da Cruz family at The Steeples, Duleek, Meath were closed down.
