Legislate now for X, says group on 21st anniversary
Members of the Action for X group are calling on the Government to immediately introduce legislation allowing for terminations in cases where the mother's life is at risk.
The campaign is holding a meeting in Dublin this morning ahead of a planned rally in the city on Monday.
It is being organised to coincide with the twenty-first anniversary of the ruling in the X Case.
Therese Caherty of Action for X claims the campaign has won the support of the public.
"We're calling on (Minister for Health) James Reilly and his Government to act for the majority and not defer to the minority in this instance," she said.
