Two men are still being detained at Wexford and Cavan garda stations, in connection with separate drugs seizures with a total street value of almost €1m.

Three separate operations were carried out yesterday in Cavan, Limerick and Wexford.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €250,000 were seized in county Wexford yesterday afternoon.

The seizure was made after Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit attached to Wexford, searched a house at Ballybeg Great in Screen.

Cannabis plants in various stages of maturity were found.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with this investigation and is currently detained at Enniscorthy Garda Station.

Earlier, cannabis worth around €400,000 was seized by Gardai in Limerick.

The drug was found in an open area at Ballyhahill, Glin as part of an investigation into the sale of supply of drugs in the region.

No arrests were made following the Limerick seizure.

In Cavan, a planned search of a house by Gardaí from the Cavan District Crime Unit at Swellen Park was carried out last evening.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €250,000 was seized.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Cavan Garda Station.
