Vehicle software company Fleetmatics to expand operations

The global headquarters of a vehicle management software company will be opened in Dublin by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny today.

Fleetmatics - which is the fifth Irish firm to be listed on the New York stock exchange - employs 50 people in Ireland, and plans to increase staff by 30% in the next 12 months.

Company CEO Jim Travers said the future was looking very bright for the company.

"Our prospects are very strong for Ireland and the UK," he said. "We have plans for the back end of 2013 to expand our selling and marketing operations to mainland Europe and we're very excited to build our operation here in Dublin."
