Farming and consumer groups have called for an inquiry after horse meat was found in beef burgers being sold in Irish supermarkets.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) detected the horse DNA during a survey of beef products sold by retailers, including Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Dunnes and Iceland.
