Men charged with assault after McGovern death
Four men and a juvenile have appeared in court today charged in connection with the death of Monaghan teenager Jason McGovern.
The 19-year-old was found dead in his friend's house in Emyvale in Co Monaghan on New Year's Eve - after he was assaulted twice during a night out in Omagh, Co Tyrone the night before.
At Omagh Magistrates Court this morning, Mark Donnelly (aged 21), James O'Brien (aged 21), Aaron Bradley (aged 18) and Aaron Davis (aged 19), all with addresses in Omagh, were charged with assault.
A 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was also charged with assault.
All of the accused were granted bail under strict conditions.
They all have to live at addresses 30 miles from Omagh, be electronically tagged and report to the police three times a week.
They are due back in court on January 22.
