Register shows 15% rise in annual house sales

The number of houses sold last year increased by 15%, according to figures from the Property Price Register.

The register shows just under 21,000 residential properties were sold in 2012, that is 3,000 more compared to 2011.

Almost half of these sales, 46%, were cash transactions.
