Taoiseach issues safety advice for people travelling home

As people continue to travel home for Christmas, Taoiseach Enda Kenny has urged everyone to take care on the roads.

Deputy Kenny is leading calls on motorists to slow down and avoid alcohol if they are driving over the holiday season.

The Taoiseach also had advice for other road users.

"For those who are cyclists, or for those who are pedestrians, be sure and be properly equipped with high-vi vests, lights front and rear, walk on the correct side of the road," he said.

"And we hope that everybody gets home safely and that they can enjoy a few days with their families and with their friends.
