Man charged in Newry for Louth kidnapping

A 21 year-old man has appeared in court in Newry charged in relation to an alleged kidnapping in Co. Louth.

At around midnight on Thursday a 20 year-old woman was dragged into a car in Dundalk and taken to a house in Newry, Co. Down.

The woman managed to escape to safety later in the night.

The man, who appeared in court yesterday, was also charged with false imprisonment, indecent assault and motoring offences.

A 25 year-old woman, believed to be the driver of the car, who was also arrested has been released on bail.
