Christmas Tree Throwing event arranged for Co Clare

Details have been announced of Ireland's second annual Christmas Tree Throwing Championships.

Competitors will throw a standard 1.5m tree in Ennis, County Clare, on January 5.

Last year's winner notched up a seven-metre throw, but the world record is 12 metres.

All proceeds from the event will be donated towards a local Cystic Fibrosis charity.
