Brothers who stole Quinn daughter's laptop jailed for 16 months

Two brothers who stole a laptop belonging to the daughter of Sean Quinn have been jailed for sixteen months.

Keith (aged 37) and his younger brother Gary Kinlan (aged 35) broke into Aoife Quinn’s car while it was parked in a laneway in north inner city Dublin last July.

They stole a case containing a HP laptop and iPhone 3GS but within minutes were caught by gardai hiding in a flats complex.

The pair, who are from Summerhill Place, Dublin pleaded guilty at the District Court last month to the theft at Loftus Lane, Dublin 1 on July 28 last.

At the time the brothers were serving an 18-month suspended portion of a three-year jail term imposed in 2011 at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Last week the jailing of the brothers was delayed so they could have a chance to buy Christmas presents for their family.

Today, the pair began the 16-month reactivated jail term imposed by Judge Martin Nolan.
