Bomb disposal team make 20th century grenade safe in Ennis

An Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe a live grenade in Co. Clare.

The 20th Century device was found by a work at Ennis recycling plant earlier.

The Defence Forces deployed a team to the Gort Road Industrial Estate, following a request from the gardaí.

The grenade was made safe by means of controlled explosion.

The scene was declared safe at 2.15 pm.

Ennis recycling centre has now reopened to the public.
