A man has been shot and injured in West Dublin.

A man has been shot and injured in West Dublin.

The man in his mid 20s was shot in the leg and arm around 6.30pm in Palmerstown Park in Ronanstown.

He was taken to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí at Ronanstown are investigating.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
