Post mortems are due to be carried out today on the bodies of the three family members killed in a house fire in Co Leitrim yesterday.

Seventy-seven-year-old Patsy McDonald, her husband Desmond aged 75, and their 34-year-old daughter Patricia all died when the blaze broke out at 2am yesterday morning.

The scene of the fire at Lisnabrack, near Manorhamilton, remains sealed off this morning as gardaí continue their investigations.

Officers say they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Parish priest of Manorhamilton Fr Oliver Kelly said the family was well-known in the area. He said Desmond McDonald had been visiting the area from his home in the US for many years, before coming back to settle in Lisnabrack more than 10 years ago.

"He was well known; he was a very quiet man, a very good man," said Fr Kelly.
