Social workers call on St Vincent de Paul to help people in need
Social workers in different parts of the country have had to write to the Saint Vincent de Paul to ask for cash to help out in some cases where people are in need, according to reports today.
However, according to the Irish Independent, the charity has had to turn down the requests.
The news comes ahead of a budget which it is feared will result in even more pressure on the services provided by St Vincent dePaul.
Head of social justice with the Saint Vincent de Paul John-Mark McCafferty said that if social workers were having to ask them for help, it is a further reminder of the pressures social workers and their clients were under.
