The Irish-American family who won half of the massive winnings from a record $580m (€447.3m) lottery jackpot in the US are planning a trip to Ireland.

Mark Hill, from Missouri, is a mechanic for a food company and wife Cindy was an office manager until she was laid off two years ago now they're $290m (€223.6m) better off.

An anonymous person in Arizona holds the other winning ticket.

The Hills have said they would like to use their winnings to visit Ireland, and to help their family pay off debts but mostly, they're just dealing with the shock of the win.

"We're just normal human beings, we're as common as anybody," said Cindy.

"We just have a little bit more money."
