Shatter: Abortion response must consider risk of suicide

Justice Minister Alan Shatter has today insisted that said that any guidelines or legislation in response to the report of the expert group report on abortion must consider the risk of suicide.

However, Minister Shatter said that Ireland will remain a State with the narrowest of laws on abortion, even if legislation is introduced to include the risk of suicide in any consideration of the risk to the mother's life.
