Man falls ill while in custody of Cork Garda station

A man is in hospital after falling ill while in garda custody in County Cork.

The man had been detained in Midleton town at around 6.30am this morning.

He later became ill at the local Garda station, and paramedics were called to the scene.

The man in his 40's was transferred to Cork University Hospital for treatment and his condition is not yet known.

Officials from the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission are investigating the case.
