Gardaí are appealing for information after a women was tied up and threatened in her home during a burglary in Dublin.

Two men - aged in their 20s - broke into the house on Green Field Road, in Sutton at around 8.20am yesterday morning.

A woman in her 50s had just returned home when the two raiders threatened her with a knife, tied her up and then stole a sum of cash.

They made their getaway in a grey BMW 5-series with a 03-D registration - which was found abandoned in Lauders Lane, Sutton a short time later.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact Clontarf Garda Station.
