A man in his late 50s has been killed in an industrial accident in County Longford.

A man in his late 50s has been killed in an industrial accident in County Longford.

The Bord na Mona worker was fatally injured at the Lough Ree power station in Lanesborough at about 12.50am.

The man's body has been removed to Mullingar General Hospital.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the incident.
