RTÉ accepts findings of Frontline debate report

RTÉ says it accepts the findings of a report into last year's Frontline Presidential debate and regrets the mistakes made in preparation for the programme.

The broadcaster was heavily criticised over its handling of the debate, during which a 'rogue tweet' was put to Sean Gallagher over donations allegedly collected by him for Fianna Fáil.

The report is critical of the format of the debate, audience selection and the standard of training in key matters such as social media.

However, the report found that mistakes made in the programme were not the result of bias.
