Four viable bombs 'constructed for later use' made safe in Dublin

Four viable bombs found in Harold's Cross, Dublin, have been made safe this evening.

Gardaí found the improvised explosive devices in a car in the Mount Argus area.

An Army Bomb Disposal Team was alerted, and attended the scene at 7pm.

Nearby residents had to be evacuated for their own safety, after the devices were determined to be viable.

All four of the devices were made safe, without any need for controlled explosions.

The bombs are being stored at a secure military location for now, but will be handed over to gardaí, for their investigations shortly.
