The parish priest of Portnoo in Co Donegal has expressed shock at the deaths of two young boys during Superstorm Sandy on Staten Island in New York.

Four year old Conor Moore and his two year old brother Brandon were washed away during the storm as their mother Glenda tried to bring them to safety. Their father Damien, who is from the Donegal parish, was working for the city council at the time.

Father Philip Daly says he is comforting the boys' grandparents in Co Donegal, and is in contact with family members in New York.
