Gardaí trial segways in Dublin

Gardaí in the capital are about to patrol the streets on segways.

The Dublin City Business Association is donating a pair of the battery-operated devices, as part of a pilot scheme aimed at boosting police visibility in urban areas.

If successful, the move could pave the way for the rollout of the machines in other cities around the country.
