A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with a bus, gardaí said.

A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with a bus, gardaí said.

A three-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash, just outside Navan, Co Meath, was taken to hospital.

The child’s injuries are described as not life threatening. The dead woman was in her 30s.

The collision occurred on the Kells Road at approximately 6.10pm.

A number of people on the bus, including the driver, were also taken to Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital.

Their injuries were described as minor. The scene was closed ahead of an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.
