One hundred and twenty new jobs are being created in Co Louth.

Yapstone, a US electronic payment company, is setting up its European HQ in Drogheda.

Yapstone handles payments for online holiday rentals and also runs ParishPay, which processes online donations for religious organisations.

The US company already has a temporary office in Dublin and now it has confirmed it is establishing its European headquarters in Drogheda, bringing 120 new jobs on stream over three years.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton - who visited the firm's head office in California yesterday - says it is great news for the north east and for the country.

It comes after 60 new positions were announced yesterday at companies in Galway and Cork.
