Census reveals make-up of modern Traveller family

A total of 13% of Irish Traveller woman have seven or more children, compared with just 0.4% of women in Ireland generally, according to CSO figures.

Some 29,573 Irish Travellers were counted in last year's Census figures, accounting for 0.6% of the population.
