SIPTU to resume DAA talks in pensions row

Talks will resume today at the Labour Relations Commission between SIPTU and the Dublin Airport Authority in a bid to resolve a row over pensions.

When talks began at the LRC last week, SIPTU called off a strike - scheduled for yesterday - that would have grounded planes at the country's main airports.

The DAA had been about to seek a High Court injunction stopping the strike from going ahead, while Aer Lingus had threatened to sue SIPTU over the action.

The LRC is hoping to secure agreement over the dispute, which centres on a pension scheme deficit, something SIPTU claims the DAA and Aer Lingus are doing nothing to address.
