Pilot proposed after plane crash imitation

A pilot pretended he and his girlfriend were about to be involved in a plane crash as part of a wedding proposal.

Ryan Thompson decided to treat his partner Carly Kennedy to a romantic flight on a small plane when he told her the aircraft was having technical issues, and asked her to read the 'ring engagement procedure' before taking control of the plane.

While Carly initially thought she was about to die, as she read more of the "instructions" she suddenly realised there was something strange about the situation.

Speaking on 'Good Morning America', she explained: "I genuinely did believe that we were going to die.

"I felt that our lives depended on me reading that checklist.

"A lot of women that I've the told story to have said, 'I would have slapped him'."
