Fears for Irish staff of JJB Sports

There are fears for over 100 Irish jobs at the sports retailer JJB Sports after its parent company in Britain went into administration this morning.

A liquidator has been appointed to find a buyer for JJB's Irish assets, which includes retail stores and gyms in Dundalk, Limerick and Dublin.

The company's Irish operations employ 102 people.

They will remain open on a "business as usual" basis, while the liquidator moves to sell the business and assets of JJB Sports in Ireland as a going concern.
