The Mayor of New York has unveiled plans to build the world's biggest Ferris Wheel.

The Mayor of New York has unveiled plans to build the world's biggest Ferris Wheel.

The 625 foot tall wheel is part of a major redevelopment of the city's Staten Island waterfront.

Officials say the New York Wheel is expected to cost $230m (€178m) and carry 4.5m riders a year.

Officials hope construction will start in 2014 and be finished in 2015.
