Reilly: I reject suggestion of improper decision
The Health Minister has said he stands over his decision to add two locations in his constituency to a list of places chosen for primay care centres after the final list had been drawn up by the HSE.
Dr James Reilly is rejecting that he did anything improper and says he would do the same thing again.
The Junior Health Minister Roisin Shortall has challenged his decision and said she did not know why he made the change.
However, Minister Reilly is defending the move.
Dr Reilly said: "I reject any idea that there was anything improper. If I had the same decision to make again tomorrow, I would make it.
"I stand over my decision, I have some experience of primary care GP provision and I want to see as many built as possible and that is the good news arising out of this."
