World's narrowest house under construction

The world's narrowest house is under construction in Poland.

The abode, which measures 120cm at its widest point and 71cm at its narrowest, is being created between two buildings in Warsaw and it will be lived in by artists for a few days or weeks at a time to start with.

Jakub Szczesny - who designed the building - insists the property's living conditions require "a spaceship-like adaptability” of an inhabitant.

He is quoted by ITN as saying: "It’s the most challenging project I ever had comparing to whatever I’ve done in Israel, Palestinian Autonomy or Australia, it’s basically the width, or rather the lack of width of this building.

“It’s the matter of putting it there because it’s going to be pretty hard to mount it and then probably the living conditions in it will require a spaceship-like adaptability of a person who will spend a couple of days”.
