Disability campaigners to examine HSE letter before ending protest

Disability campaigners on the street outside Government Buildings have been issued with a letter from the HSE confirming the reversal of cuts to personal care assistants.
They say they will review the contents of the letter before any decision is taken to wind down their protest.
Campaigner Martin Naughton has welcomed the written assurances but said that he is concerned that the reversal of cuts to personal assistants will hit other frontline services.
"We’re concerned because the money they are going to use, they are going to take it from other elements of the disability budget," he said.
"Now does that mean that somebody else might lose their frontline service? We'd like some clarification around that."
