AIB 'tried to negotiate' with Yates

AIB says it tried to negotiate a solution with Ivan Yates over his debts at the bank.

In a statement this evening, the bank says it doesn't usually comment on individuals but it felt compelled to do so following comments by the former minister over the weekend.
