Two held after €250,000 drugs haul in Waterford

Two men have been held overnight in Waterford garda station following a major drugs haul in the city last night.

Gardaí and customs officers seized 12.5 kilos of cannabis worth around €250,000 from an industrial unit on the outskirts of Waterford.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene, while a 34-year-old man was arrested during a follow-up search.

Searches are continuing in Waterford city and south Kilkenny.
