LRC to intervene in hospitals dispute
The Labour Relations Commission is to intervene in a dispute between management and trade unions at the Louth-Meath Hospital group.
The group consists of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Our Lady's Hospital in Navan and the Louth County Hospital.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation said that the dispute centres on management's plans to introduce cuts that would see the elimination of 400 frontline posts and the closure of 50 beds.
The INMO said that the HSE is endangering patients' lives and breaching the Croke Park agreement by their actions.
