Irishman killed in Nigeria

An Irishman has been shot and killed in Nigeria, it has emerged.

The incident happened yesterday, in the east of the country.

It is believed that the man, named as Robert Gray, had been working in the country.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said that it is aware of the case and it is offering consular assistance to Mr Gray's family.
