A 15-year-old boy has been released on bail today after being charged with the false imprisonment of a man in Co Limerick.

A 15-year-old boy has been released on bail today after being charged with the false imprisonment of a man in Co Limerick.

Stephen Cusack, whose family owns a post office was abducted by an armed gang from a house in Castletroy on Sunday night in a tiger kidnapping attempt.

He managed to escape unharmed.

The youth charged at Limerick Children's Court today is due to appear in court again in October.

Gardaí objected to bail on a number of counts - including the serious nature of the offence.

The accused was granted bail on a number of strict conditions as set down by the court, including that he obey a curfew, that he stay out of certain areas of Limerick city and that he has to stay away from known criminals and specific individuals.

The boy was remanded on bail to appear in the Children's Court again on October 23.

Gardaí are continuing to search for two men who they believe were behind this incident on Sunday night.
